{"id":5056,"date":"2012-10-12T21:10:47","date_gmt":"2012-10-12T19:10:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/basurama.org\/?p=5056"},"modified":"2015-03-05T15:34:48","modified_gmt":"2015-03-05T15:34:48","slug":"ful-de-estambul-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.basurama.org\/en\/2012\/10\/12\/ful-de-estambul-project\/","title":{"rendered":"In Love We Trash (project for the Istanbul Design Biennial 2012)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Inflatable bubble monster made out of plastics discarded during the mounting of the \u00a0Istanbul 2012 Design Biennial.<\/p>\n<p>Installation for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/istanbuldesignbiennial.iksv.org\">Istanbul Design Biennial 2012<\/a> at the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/istanbuldesignbiennial.iksv.org\/venues\/galata-greek-school\/\">Galata Greek School<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Bubble was not\u00a0actually designed,\u00a0its shape came out\u00a0of the plastics\u00a0actually available\u00a0at the biennial\u00a0when we arrived\u00a0and the courtyard\u00a0provided to be\u00a0exhibited.<\/p>\n<p>It is inflatedonly using twodomestic fans.<\/p>\n<p>The same\u00a0techniques and\u00a0materials used to\u00a0package and wrap\u00a0were used to build\u00a0the bubble,\u00a0allowing us to\u00a0finish it in one day\u00a0work and for only a\u00a010\u20ac cost.Taking care of\u00a0waste is an act of\u00a0love that\u00a0transforms it into\u00a0something\u00a0desirable instead\u00a0of deplorable.<\/p>\n<p>Using waste for\u00a0building the bubble\u00a0was a way of\u00a0proposing a new\u00a0way of looking at\u00a0the biennale. No\u00a0one thought about\u00a0the waste as waste,\u00a0not paying\u00a0attention to it\u00a0when\u00a0discarding, neither\u00a0once collected to be\u00a0used as building\u00a0material.<\/p>\n<p>The bubble was\u00a0projected to be\u00a0used as an urban\u00a0intervention\u00a0dispositif. We\u00a0invite anyone\u00a0explore this\u00a0tecnhique, improve\u00a0it and use it for\u00a0that purpose or\u00a0others.
